Ostatni album Acid Drinkers, czyli druga część Fishdicka, pomimo wielu prób nie zachwycił. Chłopaki prężyli się jak mogli – był Czesław, była Ania Brachaczek, ale powiem szczerze płytka dupy nie urywa. Kwasożłopy próbowały w nieco ironiczny sposób zinterpretować klasyki muzyki rozrywkowej, a Fishdick miał być swego rodzaju rockandrollowym kabaretem. Co tu dożo gadać, słuchając krążka, banana na swojej twarzy nie uświadczyłem, zupełnie jak podczas oglądania kiepskiego skeczu, który wcale nie śmieszy.
Nie czepiam się za rzekomą profanację kawałków Metalliki czy Slayera, w których Tytus i spółka wystawiają na próbę nerwy twardogłowych fanów metalu (i bardzo dobrze!), choć “Season in the Abyss” zagrany w stylu country delikatnie obrabia pałę. Te wypociny zamierzam poświęcić jednak nie nowemu krążkowi Acid Drinkers, lecz pewnemu ważnemu elementowi muzyki rockowej i metalowej, a mianowicie coverom.
Artyści poświęcają im z kolei całe albumy, by uczcić swoich mentorów lub grają je na koncertach w ramach niespodzianek, które można usłyszeć tylko na żywo (Acid Drinkers na swoim jubileuszowym gigu zagrało “For Whom The Bell Tolls” albo “Davidian”, który uskutecznił sosnowiecki Frontside na koncercie charytatywnym dla Vitka z Decapitated). Drugą grupą, o wiele ciekawszą, są kawałki spoza metalowej czy rockowej stylistyki, bo cover Slayera ktoś potrafi zagrać (jak na przykład Vader) albo nie. Prawdziwa jazda zaczyna się w przypadku numerów, które ciężko wyobrazić sobie z growlem i gitarami. Po sieci hulają tuziny pieśni granych na tzw. “ostrej ku**ie” przy czym część zespołów, zwłaszcza reprezentujących klasyczny heavy metal, chyba nie rozumie istoty zabawy. Przeróbki Mike’a Oldfielda z iście barokowym podejściem z masą solówek, klawiszy i operowych wokali są śmiertelnie poważne i nudne (patrz kapela Northern Kings).
Jeżeli ktoś słyszał “Ooops I Did It Again” w wykonaniu Children of Bodom czy “Livin la vida loca” przerobione przez Ten Masked Man z pewnością wie, co mam na myśli. Generalna zasada jest prosta: im bardziej obciachowy kawałek oraz im bardziej brutalnie jest potraktowany, tym lepiej. Wiadoma sprawa, że cover Dżast Fajf (piszę tak, co by fani chłopaków nie znaleźli tego w google i nie zjechali mnie w komentarzach 
zagrany przez Kangaroz nie jest hołdem dla castingowej zbieraniny znanej swego czasu podczas wakacji. Takie numery sprawdzają się świetnie podczas koncertów – gdy Kangury na Przystanku Woodstock uraczyli publiczność pieśnią “Kolorowe sny”, pod sceną nie było łatwo. Podobnie Marika, choć w reggae’owej stylistyce, na jednym z koncertów rozwaliła mnie kawałkiem “All That She Wants”. Zgrzeszę, jeśli nie wymienię numeru “Hiszpański hicior” Ametrii, dzięki któremu o zespole usłyszało szersze grono słuchaczy. Kłam teorii jakoby “z gówna bata nie ukręcisz” brutalnie zadają też Limp Bizkit w kawałku “Faith” czy kapela Zebrahead z “Wannabe”.
Jednak jajcarskie covery to nie tylko rzeźbienie w gównie w rodzaju Britney. Zdarza się, że mocniejsze kapele sięgają po dobre kawałki popowe, przerabiając je na niesamowite numery jak “Smooth Criminal” Alien Ant Farm czy “The Power” H-Blockx, co świadczy o uniwersalności muzyki (polecam też sprawdzić kawałek Wiener Blut austriackiego Stahlhammer).
Prawdziwym koncertowym rozpierdalaczem jest “Proud Mary” wykonywany niemal na każdym koncercie przez Acid Drinkers (oni też potrafią, szkoda że nie widzimy tego na Fishdick). Jak to się stało że Tytusy wpadły na pomysł połączenia klasycznego kawałka Creedence Clearwater Revival z “Roots Bloody Roots” Sepultury? Zdania uczonych są podzielone. Jednak nie wszystkim ta zajebistość jest dana. Gdy usłyszałem, że Hunter chwycił się za niewątpliwie luzacki i “jajeczny” kawałek Wyrzutków, czyli “Hey Ya”, spodziewałem się podjęcia tematu przez olsztyńską kapelę. Ciężko nawet ogarnąć bezmiar głupoty tej produkcji (wrzucanie na siłę operowych wokali, za chwilę przejście w stylu reggae, a reszta to granie power chords i kiepski wokal). Może powiem tylko tyle, że ten kawałek wyszedł im zupełnie podobnie jak ostatnia edycja Hunter Fest.
Cała masa lepszych lub gorszych coverbandów nie wzbudza mojego zainteresowania poza rosyjskim Boney Nem, które urzekło mnie interpretacją naszego rodzimego songu “Kolorowe Jarmarki”. Blasty? Harmoszki? Podwójna stopa? To ten zespół:) Ale czemu tu się dziwić, skoro kiedyś na antenie radia Campus usłyszałem ludowy opus magnum (hehe) “Szła dzieweczka do laseczka” w wykonaniu, z tego co pamiętam, Japończyków.
Istnieje jeszcze wiele bardzo wiejskich kawałków, które chciałbym usłyszeć w nieco cięższej wersji. Jak darmozjad ( sam nie nagram, ale z chęcią posłucham czekam aż ktoś złapie się za “Coco Jambo”, “Dawaj Naliwaj” czy któryś ze szlagierów rodzimego Feel. Miejmy nadzieję że na następne perełki przyjdzie poczekać krócej niż na nasze autostrady.
