Zagraniczne płyty – polska cena. Jesienią 2006 roku pod tym podejrzanym hasłem wystartował eksperyment made by Universal Music Polska. Eksperyment (którego autorowi serdecznie przy okazji gratuluję) polegać miał na sprzedaży w Polsce zagranicznych tytułów w – jak to wdzięcznie ujęto – dodatkowym wariancie cenowym. Wariant ów, wedle oficjalnej propagandy, wynikać miał ponoć z renegocjacji wysokości tantiem z artystami i wydawcami. Dzięki temu możliwa stała się sprzedaż płyt w sugerowanej, jakże kuszącej cenie, 29.90 złotych.
Skoro nowa cena miała rzekomo mieć swe źródło w niższych stawkach tantiem, dlaczego, koniec końców, tak wyraźnie odbiła się na jakości? Tania ściema? W rzeczy samej.
Gdyby ktoś zechciał mnie wtedy zapytać, czy takie rozwiązanie przyjmie się na rynku, bez wahania odparłabym, że w żadnym razie. Trzeba być frajerem czy innym jeleniem, by dać się rolować w tak prostacki sposób. Kto uzna, że bardziej opłaca się wydać 30 zł na coś, co zamiast normalnego bookletu ma chudą, okrojoną namiastkę okładki, wydrukowaną w dodatku na marnym papierze i w bladych, nijakich, brzydkich pseudo-kolorach? Nawet tekstów brak. A na tym wszystkim, dla zwieńczenia koszmaru, walnięty jeszcze paskudny napis (względnie naklejka) informujący radośnie, że oto właśnie trzymamy w dłoniach special-shitty-edition zwany ‘polską ceną’. Dla mnie taki ‘produkt’ to zwykłe oszustwo. Za 30 zł oferować śmiecia, gdy za niewiele więcej mogę mieć pełnowartościowy produkt. Gdzie tu logika, gdzie okazja? Jak można mieć poczucie, że zrobiło się dobry interes? Ja widzę tylko trzy dychy wywalone w błoto.
Czas pokazał, że wyczucie trendów rynkowych mam, co tu kryć, fatalne. Pomysł (niestety!) okazał się sukcesem. Blisko rok po inauguracji firma, zachęcona wynikami sprzedaży, podjęła decyzję o wprowadzaniu w ten sposób na krajowy rynek każdej zagranicznej premiery. Hip, hip!? Czy raczej chlip…
Szkaradek żyje, o zgrozo, już piąty rok. I co gorsza, ma się nieźle. Czy może raczej, nieźle psuje rynek. Z początku, tu i ówdzie pojawiały się wprawdzie komentarze ze strony nielicznych rozczarowanych, że warto byłoby jednak poinformować nabywców o braku tekstów w booklecie czy okrojonej oprawie graficznej. Pojawiały się, ale przestały. Zresztą, z drugiej strony, jak bardzo trzeba być naiwnym, by wierzyć, że ktokolwiek (czy to wydawca, czy dystrybutor, czy inny gracz w tym skomplikowanym handlowym łańcuchu) zaoferuje nam płytę tańszą od innych o 30%, nie rekompensując sobie tej ’straty’ w jakiś inny sposób? Jasne, teoretycznie obniżka ceny bez szkody dla jakości jest oczywiście możliwa. Wystarczyłoby choćby nieco zejść ze złodziejskiej marży, ale… nikt chyba nie ma złudzeń, że szybko tego doczekamy. Jeśli doczekamy…
Szczęście w nieszczęściu, z mojej przynajmniej perspektywy, że na polsko-cenowy warsztat wzięte zostały głównie tytuły popowe. Głównie, nie znaczy jednak, że wyłącznie. Pośród zmasakrowanych wydań materiałów Bon Jovi, Eltona Johna, Tokio Hotel czy Nelly Furtado znalazły się i płyty QOTSA, Mansona, czy nawet (DVD) Wolfmother. Szlag mnie trafiał, gdy bezowocnie poszukiwałam pełnowartościowego (czyt. takiego, jakie oferowane jest klientom w każdym innym wspólnotowym kraju) wydania tego ostatniego, sprowadzając je sobie w końcu z zagranicy, po cenie równej temu czemuś, co walało się na półkach polskiego Saturna.
Dlaczego naród podchwycił ten szatański pomysł, a nie – na przykład – poczuł się urażony? Słyszał ktoś kiedyś o cenie duńskiej, włoskiej, francuskiej? Świat poznał ‘nice price’, ale polska cena? Od razu widać, w jakim kontekście użyty został przymiotnik ‘polska’. Polska równa się niska. Niska, bo dla Polaka. Dlaczego? Ano dlatego, że w Polsce to niezmiennie główny, kluczowy, zasadniczy, by nie powiedzieć jedyny motywator zakupowy. Cena niska to wciąż – w oczach Polaka – okazja! Nieważne, że i towar dostaje wtedy szmatławy. Grunt to mieć poczucie, że wydało się mniej. Reszta (w tym jakość) jest już bez znaczenia.
Co z tego, że cena takich płyt jest niższa, skoro całość to, spójrzmy prawdzie w oczy, sama żałość? Niby płacimy mało, ale co dostajemy w zamian? Liche pod każdym względem wydanie dla ubogich. Od dnia wprowadzenia tego wynalazku na rynek zastanawiałam się, kto to kupuje!? Wreszcie, z wyjaśnieniem pospieszył mi znajomy: ‘No przecież jest taniej!’. Fakt, jest. Ale co z tego? Gwoli ścisłości, nie był to student, którego okoliczności życiowe zmuszają do codziennego dokonywania wyborów: płyta czy książka, browar czy obiad. Mówił to dobrze sytuowany singiel. Skoro zatem w jego przypadku motywy prowadzące do wyboru polskiej ceny lokują się poza sferą koniecznych oszczędności, można zakładać, że takich jak on jest więcej. Niby stać ich na jakość, a wolą nijakość. Czy znaczy to, że skłonność do tandety mamy zwyczajnie we krwi?
